Book Reviews of Zen Shorts (Caldecott Honor Book)Book Review: Wow. Summary: 5 Stars
I have loved (and love) so many books - even cherished them, but have never been truly motivated to write a review until this moment. The package containing this book, which I'd ordered somewhat randomly for my daughter's sixth birthday, arrived a few hours ago. I just opened the package and finished reading Zen Shorts. I smiled, felt peaceful and then - amazingly - cried, just a little. Then I hugged the book, came back here and ordered three more. That's how much this book affected me. It's that wonderful. It's the first book I've ever hugged. Jon Muth... thank you.
Book Review: Amazing Children's book Summary: 5 Stars
This book is by far the best children's book I have ever read. It is truly amazing. Just like Three Questions, it teaches children the fundamental principles of a happy life through zen. My seven year old daughter has taken both books to heart, and asks me to buy them to give to others for birthday presents. I have also given both books to adult friends and family (particularly Zen Shorts) because the lessons learned benefit all ages. I wish Jon Muth had one hundred books like this. I would buy every one of them. (And the illustrations are beautiful too.)
Book Review: Wonderful Book for Kids Summary: 5 Stars
My two year old son loves this book. Whenever we ask him which book he would like to read he always asks for the "panda book".
This is a great book for my husband and I to read over and over also. We both enjoy it as much as our son. The pictures are beautiful and the stories Stillwater tells each of the children make you take a closer look at yourself too. My husband commented that he needs to take the advise of the older monk in the story of The Two Traveling Monks.
Book Review: Highly imaginative Summary: 5 Stars
This is s fantastic book! I love the beautiful illustrations and the wonderful lessons that we all could stand to learn. I highly recommend this book for all! Wonderful introduction for children to Buddhist ideology, but really not a religious book by any stretch. It really more gives us an idea how to treat each other in this world.

Book Review: Beautiful, thought provoking book Summary: 5 Stars
I've never bothered to write a review before but just have to for this warm wonderful book. The illustrations are gorgeous but I picked the book up to find out about "Zen". I ended up sitting in the bookstore until I read it through & bought it for myself. It affected me in a most positive way & certainly would give anyone who reads it a more tolerant perspective on life & people. I'd recommend this book for adults as well as children.
