Book Reviews of Your Body Knows Best

Book Review: Interesting but could be better organized
Summary: 3 Stars

I took the metabolic type test in this book which determined that I am a fast burner. Since I am also blood type B and of northern European descent, my eating plan should include red meat and full-fat dairy products to keep me satiated for a longer period of time (than eating pure carbs would). However, I found that eating this way didn't really make me feel any fuller. I think the author's ideas are refreshing (that one type of diet isn't right for everyone, and that you need to experiment to find out what's right for you), but I thought the book could be better organized, especially in the section where the three eating profiles are listed.

Book Review: IT WAS LIKE A GOOD MOVIE WITH A QUICK AND UNPOLISHED ENDING
Summary: 3 Stars

If you plan to read this book, start on page 120 with the metabolic profile test. If you fit profile 1 or 2 you need to use caution because some of the menu items for these groups are on the AVOID-FOR-ALL-TYPES list earlier in the book. If you fall into Profile 3, forget it since the detailed food plans and final compilations are applicable only to 1 and 2. I felt like I had watched a decent movie with a quick, unpolished ending.

Book Review: Good information, but...
Summary: 3 Stars

The author has excellent information and advice on dieting but she complicates the subject by putting heritage and metabolic rate into the mix of factors to consider. ABO blood type is very important in my view as is excersise and avoiding processed foods, Both books agree on many important issues however. I hope she is wrong about having to give up Sushi, I'd rather die.

Book Review: I think the idea is good, but needs alittle work
Summary: 3 Stars

I would have like more indepth information regarding the menu planning. Can you mix some of the foods together, will you get the same result?? What, some of the ideas were vague.

Book Review: Not bad, but "Eart Right 4 Your Type" is better.
Summary: 2 Stars

The book presents some good information, such as D'Adamo's work with blood type, but complicates things by introducing a slew of less scientific schemes besides blood type. The result is a confusing mix of what is beleivable and what is not. I found 'Eat Right 4 Your Type' not only more believable, but also better organized.
