Book Reviews of You Are Special (Max Lucado's Wemmicks)Book Review: There's no disguising that this is just GOOD! Summary: 5 Stars
Some people really miss the point. Max is not trying to disguise anything. This is a Christian story. It is about God (dare I say it). The author is a minister. Some stories just shouldn't be disguised. This is an absolutely wonderful story to share with all children. I like most of Max's books but these new ones have even better illustration, which keeps the children's interest even more. Many of the books sound the same but they are a welcome change to regular mix of childrens' stories.
Book Review: This book is not just for children! Summary: 5 Stars
I've read Max Lucado's book a number of times but it wasn't until just recently that I was able to fully comprehend it's powerful message. Too many times I forget that my identity doesn't lie in who I am or what I do or even what I've done. My identity lies in the fact that I am a beloved child of God. What He thinks of me should be all that matters. Instead of letting others decide whether I receive stars or dots, I should be visiting with my Maker daily and living as His beloved.
Book Review: What a special way to share God's love with children! Summary: 5 Stars
The store that I bought this book in had it tucked away on the bottom shelf of a display. But, when I picked it up and read what was inside I was amazed at the simple beauty that it shared. As I read it again at home I weeped because Eli's love for his hand made children is so familiar to the way we can all feel God's love. As we read this to our children they can come to understand more simply our's and God's unconditional love for them. Max Lucado has done a wonderful job!
Book Review: Everybody needs to read this wonderful book. Summary: 5 Stars
I feel so lucky that I had the chance to read this book. I don't have kids and seldom think of looking at children's books. But a mom friend showed it to me and we both cried as we read it together. It's a book for children of all ages. The text and illustrations just shine with love, and everybody needs to hear the messages of self-acceptance and self-esteem in this book. I'm buying copies of it for Xmas gifts for my favorite aunt, my favorite child friend, and my therapist.
Book Review: Excellent Book for All Ages Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderfully written, touching story that reminds people of ALL ages just how much we sometimes not only label other people, but also how much we perform according to how others have labelled us. It's time to break free from those labels and realize that the only thing that matters is what God thinks about us and whether we're living according to His standards. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a short but very meaningful story. It makes a great gift too!
