Book Reviews of Yin YogaBook Review: Yin Yoga Stretches more than tissue Summary: 5 Stars
I took a Yin Yoga workshop from Sarah Powers and that's how I came to connect with Paul Grilley's book. I use this in my yoga classes and after spending the summer working on my "yin" yoga I have noticed a marked increase in my flexibility. This book is full of very valuable information. Paul covers all the bases! I have a number of students wanting to purchase this book. You won't be disappointed with this book. You can read it ina couple of hours but will find you keep refering back to it because there is so much information in it.
Book Review: Great works come in small packages Summary: 5 Stars
Paul Grilley's book, Yin Yoga, is absolutely straightforward, simple, and effective. As a long-time practitioner of yoga, exercise, and instructor of movement, Paul struck a perfect balance between background and context on the one hand, and practical how-to on the other. I recommend this book wholeheartedly to anyone with a body and a mind, as adding the Yin-perspective into one's thoughts is a fundamental shift in being able to take care of one's body and life.
Book Review: Great book! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great book for anyone wanting to learn or do Yin Yoga. The poses are usually held a little longer but it has many benefits and feels great on your body! The book explains Yin Yoga practice and has a lot of great information! There are sample routines to help get you started! Each pose has photos that show you how to do the pose as well as a description that is very easy to understand and explains how to carry out the pose! This book is wonderful!
Book Review: Excellent resource, buy the DVD as well Summary: 5 Stars
I can remember sitting in Paul Grilleys seminar on Yin Yoga. For the first time I found a great yogi with an anatomists heart who kept hitting the nail on the head. If you have ever wondered why some poses are easy for some and impossible for others, read the book, get the DVD's and by all means go to his seminars. Pauls insights and teaching moved me from a curious yoga practitioner to working on my RYT with the Yoga Alliance. Great stuff.
Book Review: A different kind of yoga Summary: 5 Stars
I am enjoying this book because so much of all we do in the gym is "yang" or muscular exercise . Paul's book describes how athletes can stretch and therefore protect the body by learning to stretch the joints and connective tissue . I am using this book as a reference in my teaching and personal practice . I am a runner, cyclist and fitness instructor who does not need Power yoga . This type of yoga is for me !
