Book Reviews of Yeager: An Autobiography

Book Review: Couldn't stop reading
Summary: 5 Stars

OK I couldn't stop reading. Spent several nights staying up too late reading this page-turner of a book. Yeager tells it like it is, in a delightful and fascinating manner. I'm a Navy brat, so I've experienced some of the things he has written about (i.e. living in military housing or missing my Dad when he was gone) his writing about pilots and the military life was right on.

Book Review: a delightful yarn by an American original
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a well-written book, whether the credit goes to Mr. Yeager or his ghost-writer. I liked the commentaries by Yeager's wife and his fellow pilots, and I loved the tough-guy prose that really was honestly earned. Yeager started out as a sergeant-pilot and ended by becoming one of the most famous USAF test pilots that ever was. You can't help but like the man.

Book Review: Great Action all the way through!
Summary: 5 Stars

What a life Chuck Yeager has had. Countless contributions to aviation and the space race. This book tells a terrific story of a man who made the most of every break he got. Obviously an inspiration for anybody who thinks they should be doing what they love and not just what gives them a paycheck. A must read if you're a life enthusiast of any type.

Book Review: A great biography of a true hero
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great autobiography of one of the greatest pilots who ever lived. Its just about impossible to read through this book and its first and second hand accounts of Yeager's exploits without realising that Yeager is a true hero. Yeager's retelling of his dogfights in WW2, as well as his X-1 flights are first rate

Book Review: Amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

Amazing. Simply amazing. I read the two page introduction and didn't put the book down until it was finished. You simply can not stop reading this book once it engrosses you. If you are a military historian of flight enthusiast you must read this book. I will never read a book as good as this one again.
