Book Reviews of Yeager: An AutobiographyBook Review: GREAT READ, HARD TO PUT DOWN Summary: 5 Stars
I won't get wordy like some of the other reviews here... This book is well written and quite simply takes you on an adventure that makes you wish you were there at the time. Wonderful. I thought I knew a little about Chuck Yeager before reading this and I actually knew nothing. He is one of the "Greatest Generations" greatest. Thanks Chuck! Highly recommended for anyone interested in adventure and individualism, not just history or WWII buffs.
Book Review: A lifetime of aviation excellence... Summary: 5 Stars
If you love first-hand combat accounts, this is the book for you. If you want to learn about the second golden age of aviation, this is the book for you. If you want to see a shining example of endurance, bravery, skill, and incredible luck, this is the book for you. Chuck Yeager proves that there are still some old, bold pilots around with style, dignity, and flair. If you love aircraft and aviation, you can't miss "Yeager"!
Book Review: Better than a Tom Clancy novel . . . cause it's REAL! Summary: 5 Stars
There are few pilots, few people, that have lived a life as
full as Chuck Yeager. World War II Ace, Jet/Rocket plane
test pilot, countless records and historical landmarks, and
a true American hero.
This autobiography reads better than a movie and keeps you
riveted to the pages through 50 years of this legend's life.
If you like Tom Clancy, you'll love Yeager: An Autobiography,
because what Clancy imagines, Chuck Yeager did.
Book Review: Yeager Summary: 5 Stars
Great autobiography of a great American. General Yeager's life story outlines an exciting time in the development of our space program and the furthering of our knowledge in aeronautics, including the breaking of the sound barrier, which to him was another day getting paid to do what he loved. Should be on a list of must reads for young Americans as is shows us that truly anything is possible, even for just a young country boy.
Book Review: The Write Stuff-Definetly Summary: 5 Stars
This is an outstanding book on several levels. It is a compelling presentation of the development of supersonic jets and the race to break the sound barrior. It is also the story of perhaps the best pilot ever to fly a plane and the Alpha of all Alpha males. If you like the movie "The Right Stuff" then you should really enjoy the story behind one of the main story line of that movie.
