Book Reviews of XOXO: Hugs and Kisses (Postcard Book)Book Review: A nice little collection Summary: 5 Stars
Beautiful pieces can come in little packages. Each one of the postcards found in this book a wonderful to look at and could be pulled out and framed if the fancy strikes you. James Jean's style is amazing to look at and catches the eye with the subjects and the coloring. I would highly suggest this as a gift for anyone who likes graphic/comic style works or even just someone looking for a new artist to adore. I would maybe give it a pg-13 rating on the safe side for some of the images. A great piece to be added to any collection, especially yours with such a low price.
Book Review: Great prints, neat package, very thick card stock. Summary: 5 Stars
If you like James Jean you will not be disappointed with this (so long as you know that they are post cards). Some of the artwork appears to be out of his sketchbooks, while others are completed paintings. I like that sort of variety since it helps to give some insight into his process and preliminary work.
Anyway, the packaging is very neat, the prints are very good quality, and the paper is very thick. I dont think that I will be sending these out, but this is a nice small book to add to my art library for reference/inspiration.
Book Review: You won't regret it Summary: 5 Stars
this little booklet of postcards by James Jean is absolutely fantastic. 30 illustrations that will blow your mind.
The design of the entire thing is impressive to the smallest of details...this is more than what I'd expect for the (about) $10 dollars I paid for it.
Actually, I might buy a second copy of this "book" just because it's so cool (and so cheap)....one will be for collecting, the other one will be ripped apart, and each postcard will go on my wall.
You don't need to think twice. Just buy it!
Book Review: This is a beautiful art book, let alone just a postcard book Summary: 5 Stars
I just received James Jean's new postcard book XOXO today. This book is beautiful; from the moment you see the crisply detailed cover, you know this is a quality product and also a piece of art. The postcards are like mini prints on thick card stock, with rounded corners. The art chosen ranges from sketches to paintings to illustrations. Everything is wonderfully designed. Do yourself a favor and buy it!
Book Review: Too beautiful to be a postcard Summary: 5 Stars
I have been following James Jean's art for the past couple of years. He blends a variety of ethereal, organic, heavenly and demonic images in such a beautifully captivating way. This postcard book would make a really nice gift to anyone who is interested in illustration/painting or art in general. The product definately defeats its purpose- in a good way.
