Book Reviews of World of Warcraft Atlas, Second EditionBook Review: Cataclysm is around the corner... Summary: 3 Stars
The new expansion will change many things in the current atlases. Heck, they're going to cut Kalimdor nearly in half. Some areas are destroyed, changed dramatically and there are completely new instances and lands. Buyer beware.
Book Review: Not what I expected... Summary: 2 Stars
It's always nice to have the latest guide book, and that's why I bought this after installing the Lich King. Enough of the original game area had changed with this latest expansion that I thought it was time for a new map book. I was disappointed to see that not even the new harbor area of Stormwind was shown in the book. Additions like that in the game were the primary reason for my buying. I would hesitate to upgrade any of my books in the future, just because they were updated editions, until I have talked with other people to see whether there is really any new additions to the old content.
Book Review: World of Warcraft Atlas Summary: 2 Stars
As far as it goes this Atlas is excellent -- but it is badly outdated. There are no maps for any of the areas created in the Burning Crusade, meaning that the lists of trainers and so on do not include any of the skills or professions in that update. Since the BC has been out for more than a year it's disappointing that a supposedly "new" edition is so dated and incomplete.
I suggest not buying this until it is updated to include BC and the Lich King due in November of 08.
Book Review: poor design and detail Summary: 2 Stars
u get more info and easier access from Quest Helper than this book delivers and QH is free. I was also disappointed in the fact that the area covered is limited to such a small region of the game. For the price it looks mice, but is useless
Book Review: worthless Summary: 1 Stars
The hope for this product for me was a great printed version of the very awesome maps the player uses when exploring the world of warcraft. Unfortunately, it would seem this has failed to be.
The maps are placed in such a manner as to cover all one page and 1/3 of the next. over the binding, so forget about cutting then out.
2nd they are real maps but they have a graph put over them to 'locate' place on it. The real problem with this is the game ever changes, so what is the point? So a lot of the data is out of date now.
Like blizzard normally does, it looks pretty but is pretty useless. If you are seeking information for the game in a book format this is very little help because it is out of date and lacking good layout.
physically the book is made well. But it isn't worth what it is printed on.
