Book Reviews of World Without EndBook Review: Ken Follett's World without end Summary: 5 Stars
This is a brilliant book. First people should read Pillars of he Earth by Ken Follet that is about building a Cathedral in 12th Century, over approx 100 years.. This picks up the story 200 years on. I was waiting years for this book as Pillars of the Earth was one of the best books I had ever read. I sent a copy to a friend in Alabama as she also loved Pillars of the Earth.
Book Review: UNBELIEVABLE !!!! Summary: 5 Stars
this is my FAVOURITE book of all time. if anyone knows of anything else that remotely resembles this, i'd read that too. this is as good as the prequel, Pillars of the Earth. the characters are even more vivid in this sequel. nary a dull moment in this book. caris, merthyn, godwyn, etc.....all of them are unforgettable. this is a book you'll never forget. enjoy
Book Review: World Without End Summary: 5 Stars
Wonderful insight into the world in England's emerging cities during the 14th and 15th centuries, the conflict between church and state, and the emergence of the tradesmen as they begin to take authority and power in the political system in England. Well worth the read as it avoids the more traditional politics of royalty and favors the view of the governed.
Book Review: Great sequel, unlike any other Summary: 5 Stars
Even though the characters are different, set later in time, you're able to get right back in the story like its prequel. I was initially disappointed that the story didn't pick up where it left off, but once I got into it, it was so much better! Again, the architectural details and Follett's ability to really "put you in the story" is the best part.
Book Review: Wonderful continuation Summary: 5 Stars
I was entralled with Ken Follett's "Pillars of the Earth," and am just as enthralled with this sequel. It's a couple of hundred years later, still in the Middle Ages, and he paints a vivid picture of every day life for common people and the clergy. Fascinating reading as the lives of the characters intertwine to make it difficult to put down.
