Book Review: Engrossing autobiography of a courageous individual

The original 1980 edition of this book had a significant impact on me when I read it at the time. The paperback edition I had at the time stayed on my bookshelf in a prominent place throughout my years of college and law school. G. Gordon Liddy's patriotism, courage and determination proved to be a source of inspiration to me as a young man. Anyone can be physically tough, and Liddy was certainly that. But he was also emotionally tough as well, and it is this quality which I particularly admired and found fascinating. The first half or so of the book reads as a coming-of-age story and is truly fascinating. The latter part of the book deals with his successful legal and then political career. Make no mistake about it: Mr. Liddy is a thoughtful, intelligent and highly accomplished individual and an extremely talented writer to boot. In addition to describing an important chapter in American history - a chapter he personally lived and participated in at very close range - G. Gordon Liddy's book "Will" is also humorous and entertaining. There are episodes in this book that will have you laughing along with Liddy as he relates various funny exploits from his FBI days and later. I recommend this book highly. If you are a college or high school student, perhaps Mr. Liddy's early struggles will inspire you. But really, this is a book for readers of any age. I urge you to buy it for yourself or as a gift for someone you care about. Enjoy!
