Book Review: Offensive to Vodou

Vodou is a religion seeped in tradition and spirituality. As a Spirit religion, Vodou has been practiced around the world as a means to connect with the Divine, first through the L'wa, and then, to bring us closer to the manifestation of God who well call Bondye, the Good God. This book is an afront to the very nature of Vodou, which at it's heart upholds a strong sense of morality similar to that of the Catholic Church. Vodou embraces the concepts of personal modesty. We do not even expose our shoulders before the Saints, so why would we call them during love making? To even suggest such a thing in blasphemy to my religion of Vodou.
Books like this encourage people to dabble in something "forbidden" and "scary". What these books don't teach is that it is the acts that these books suggest that will anger the Spirits. "Sacred Sluts" is even an insult to the "sacred whore" which once held such an important part in the histories of many cultures, but let me be very clear in saying that the sacred whore had no place in the foundation or history of Vodou.
I would not, and never could bring myself to even read such absolute rubbish, and if someone was looking for an accurate treatise on the view Vodou has of sexuality, this would be the book at the top of my "never read" pile. Such blatant lies about the Spirit of Vodou are offensive, degrading and an horrific insult to Vodouisant around the world.
