Book Reviews of Whitethorn Woods (Vintage)

Book Review: A different way of writing a book.
Summary: 5 Stars

This was a pleasant surprise. Not a novel, but a series of short stories about people in the same town, often telling the same story from different viewpoints. Not a soap opera, but ordinary people doing good and evil, and sometimes doing great things. All of it is believable.

Book Review: Whitethorn Woods
Summary: 5 Stars

As always, Ms Binchy delivers! She is one of my fave authors and I look forward to every new book. The characters are interesting and she makes you feel like you have visited their hometown. LOVED IT!

Book Review: Reflections of faith.
Summary: 4 Stars

The author of Whitethorn Woods cleverly weaves a series of personal stories of different characters into one central little town with a well. This well is supposedly the home of a Saint to whom all bring their problems or wishes. Progress unfortunately means a new highway will be built around the town like a bypass and right through the well. The most unsuspecting character in the book arranges for the road to bypass the well and the town will be back to a normal sleepy town without all the traffic but with its sacred well....

Book Review: Heartwarming, Enjoyable Read
Summary: 4 Stars

I don't know how she does it, but Maeve Binchy always impresses me with her tales from far away lands. She always has interesting, intertwining storylines with characters we either love or love to hate. This story also gave the most unlikely guy the best revenge in the end. This is a real page turner that kept me up late many nights...I couldn't help to read quickly because I wanted to see what would happen next and yet sad when it was done.

I highly recommend this book and Nights of Rain and Stars!

Book Review: Best Binchy In a Long Time
Summary: 4 Stars

I really enjoyed this novel, which in Binchy's signature style is actually a series of short stories linked together by common characters and settings.
