Book Reviews of Where is the Mango Princess? A Journey Back from Brain Injury

Book Review: Valuable
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this book for a friend with a recent (skiing) brain injury. But I read it myself when I was in a similar situation 6 years ago. It is a great book! Every brain injury is different, but there are many consistent themes. Reading this book helps you understand what living with brain injury is - and how it may be different from your preconceptions. I certainly had no idea, beforehand. It is terrific and I recommend it for anyone is affected by traumatic brain injury and their families and friends.

Book Review: wonderful book
Summary: 5 Stars

We read this book for book club and we all loved it. Only now I understand what my cousin and his family have gone through after he had an bicycle accident and was in a coma for three days. The writer clearly describes the pain and anguish she and her daughter went through. I admire her absolute commitment to her husband and getting him back on his feet and back to a "regular" life. This is a great and informational book to read for everybody who comes into contact with a person with brain injury.

Book Review: excellent study of brain injury (from Amazon)
Summary: 5 Stars

This excellent work is a history of a traumatic brain incident ,which reads like a suspense novel . It clarifies the mysteries of living with a brain injured individual through every phase of his injury ,and years afterwards. Invaluable for anyone who has someone with such an injury that they care about ,even more for someone who cares for such an injured person. It is concise ,clear, and complete ,while still with enough humor to make it an enjoyable read.

Book Review: A beacon in the dark
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband suffered a sudden traumatic brain injury two months ago. Reading Cathy Crimmins' account of her husband's recovery and their journey together was so great. I couldn't put this well written, fast paced, heartwarming book down! My husband is in rehab now, and I hope and pray that this time next year we, too, can go swimming together! Thanks for writing such an inspiring book Cathy!

Book Review: Reading for Brain & Behavior Class
Summary: 5 Stars

This book has shown alot of non-technical information that isn't always covered. Such as the extreme inhibition that occurs to tramatic brain injury patients. I loved this book, I felt that it gave me so much insight, and put things in perspective and how important it is to take care of ones precious brain. A GREAT read, read in about week. Highly recommended!
