Book Reviews of Where Dreams BeginBook Review: A Gem of a Book! Summary: 5 Stars
I REALLY loved this book and am so sad that it's over. I know a good romance when I read one and this one has to be in my top five favorites now! It has all of the elements of a great romance. Witty banter, sexual tension, 3 dimensional characters, a believable plot, a sexy hero and a wonderful, love worthy heroine. I just loved, loved, loved this story!
Holly, a young widow with a young daughter is living with her in laws and under their protection. They vowed to care for her as her late husband would have wanted. Zachary, a roguish prize fighter who grew up with nothing, vowed to provide for his mother and sister in any way possible, even if that meant making a fortune and carving his place into society, and oh how he did. He was so ambitious and skillful that his fortune outweighed old England's aristocrats by miles. Not that this made him a place into society, it did the opposite. He was loathed because he intimidated the ton with his wealth and vulgar display. Because of his less than humble beginnings and his newly "arrived" status he was never quite accepted so he staked a plan to marry into the blue blooded line so that he may properly secure his families futures.
With his eyes staked on Lady Holly he decided it was she he wanted. He devised a plan to have her move in with him and his family and teach them "manners" and the proper way of society. Appauled, but intrigued at starting her own life away from the memory of her husband he gave her an offer she couldn't refuse....money and lots of it for one year of her service. If his plan goes well...he can make her his wife and have her good name help his bad one. Little did either of them know what they'd find wasn't a perfect match, but that they were falling in love, a plan neither had anticipated. Couple that with the fact that she cannot love him because of his social status and that her husband had prearranged her a marriage before he died and you have a great, believable story. There are so many great, memorable moments i this book.
Swoonworthy & sweet moments (without giving anything away):
~Zac fighting (literally) for her honor
~Little Rose placing her hand on Zachary's cheek and consoling him when he should have been consoling her
~Rose's little button string and Zach always adding to it with buttons full of memory
~Zach's grief toward the end....really showed the reader his vulnerable side and that rugged men are soft inside (swoon).
~The first time Zach saw George's photo....it wasn't the reaction I was expecting (swoon)
~ The summerhouse (need I say more??)
~Ravenhill's friendship with Holly and his growing respect for Zach...
There are way too many perfect moments in this book. I'd say it's perfect in every way. Never once was I dissapointed.
I've read a lot of light, flowery, fluff. This book isn't that. It's real. They do fall in love and you fall in love along with them. Please don't delay. If you're a fan of romance that sweeps you off of your feet and a story where characters develop and real feelings are intertwined then this is the book for you.
Summary of Where Dreams BeginZachary Bronson has built an empire of wealth and power -- now he needed a wife to help secure his position in society...and warm his bed in private. But not just any woman will do for a man whom all of London knows is not a gentleman. Then he unexpectedly swept Lady Holly Taylor into his arms for an unasked for -- but very alluring -- kiss, and suddenly he knew he had found a woman whose fierce passions matched his own. Lady Holly Taylor was beautiful, generous, and, as a widow, destined to spend her life playing by society's rules, even when they went against her bolder instincts. But Zachary's kiss had aroused her, and though the shocking offer he made didn't include marriage, she was compelled to risk everything and follow him to the place where dreams begin.
