"When You Are Engulfed in Flames" is a book that I had to read straight through. His humor either grabs you and beats you silly until you pee your pants, or else you just don't get "it". Thank goodness I get "it". Maybe I am as warped as David is, but hey, that's ok. I highly recommend this book. The world is rough out there, and you need a laugh. This book is full of laughs, giggles, and snarfs. Buy it, you'll want to reread this book.Book Review: You Can Count on Sedaris for a Good Laugh

It is always a joy to read David Sedaris's essays, because it reassures me that: Yes, there is someone out there who thinks about the same kind of strange things that I do.
While not as laugh-out-loud funny as his previous essay collections, this book was nonetheless still a wonderful read, especially his journal of quitting smoking. As usual, the only thing I would change about the book would be to make it longer.

This was my first book by David Sedaris and it did not disappoint. This book is humorous, Sedaris has a great outlook on life. I especially enjoyed the piece called "That's Amore." The old lady in that story is quite a character, read it and find out what I am talking about. Wrapping my review up, I'll end it by saying that I will be reading more from David Sedaris and that "When You Are Engulfed In Flames" deserves two thumbs up.Book Review: Sedaris is Sedaris

Sedaris is Sedaris in this wonderful collection of stories. One thing I like about this collection is that the author, who is about my age, is aging in his writing. As hilarious as his stories about his childhood and young adulthood are, he has become more introspective and quirky, just like the rest of us. His ability to look at and experience the world in everyday life, and present it to us through his eyes is as appealing as ever.
