Book Review: David Sedaris never lets you down.

I don't think I'm saying anything other readers haven't already said when I say that any book that can make me laugh outloud is a bonus! David Sedaris can do it every time. The manager of a bookstore in an airport told me that people would come in, take a copy off the stack and set it down at the register ready for purchase without even reviewing the story first. She asked them why and they it's David Sedaris...of course I'm going to like it. I agree wholeheartedly. Thank you Mr. Sedaris.Book Review: laugh till you cry

I have been reading this book every night since I got it last week. What a way to fall asleep - giddy and high on life. Sedaris brings awareness to all of us with humor ; I have to bring a box of tissues to bed as I laugh so hard I cry! I am sad to think I am almost to the end of this delightful look at our human connectedness. I swear Sedaris and I are married to the same man! When not laugh out loud funny - it is spiritually relevant and touching - a gem.

Rarely do I laugh outloud while reading a book, but that's what happens when you read David Sedaris... and when you least expect it. I bought the book especially for his essay on stopping his cigarette habit, since I am in the midst of that horror right now. This man can find humor in ANYTHING!! The entire book is a treasure. You start out reading rapidly and then find yourself slowing down to savor what he's saying. The man's outlook on life in general is hilarious!! I loved it.Book Review: Literally lol'd

I "listen" to more books than I actually read. I can't remember what it was that drew me to this book but I am glad I found it. I have a chronic pain disorder and use the books on mp3 to "escape" from my pain. David has a way about him that draws you in and captures you. many times I found myself literally laughing out loud. I love his wit and plan on reading or listening to his other books. This is a can't miss book and will make you think as well as laugh. I found each story very intriguing and funny. It is interesting to see how David's life changes with exposure to fame, some money and a good companion. And yet... David seems to not change at all in his essential self.
It was particularly amusing to read his view of Japan. I have spent a lot of time there, and found his views both irreverent and gentle at the same time. All I can say is that I hope he finds other excuses to live in other countries sometime soon.
