I read this book when it was first published. This time, I wanted to own it. Merlin Stone's eye-opening research and well-reasoned position makes for good reading and thought provoking discourse.
I bought the book used, from one of the Amazon vendors, had to wait a bit for delivery but didn't mind. The book is too important!
Amazon is my preferred source for o.o.p. books of all sorts.

As a woman who prefers Christianity as opposed to Neo-Paganism I must say this is a very important book. Too many seem to take every single syllable of the Bible literally despite the fact that it is loaded w/ allegory(such as the visions in Revelation)and metaphors. Therefore to many this book is like swallowing poision. The possibility of a non-patriarchal family and social system? Ouchy.Book Review: When God Was A Woman

I have recently started reading this and have enjoy it this far, I find myself more interested daily as to the findings of pre-christian history, and seem to be grabbing them from everywhere. I was reading this on the plane and happened to be sitting next to a women who had also read it and she was very helpful on more books of this nature.Book Review: Extraordinary book one of my favourites of all times

No words to describe how easy, marvelous and didactic.
A work one can NOT miss; it gives us so much light on Judaism, Christianity and the previous and first world religion: the worship of the Goddess.
This book with softness changed my life and open my eyes to religion.

if you want to know about the goddess and her role in ancient history you should read this, it talks about how before men and women were treating in history and it the end it explains before we can be truly civilized creatures we have to learn how to respect each others opinions and ideas.
