Book Reviews of What to Expect The Toddler Years

Book Review: yet another great book in this series
Summary: 5 Stars

Although what to expect when your expecting is my favorite of this series. I thought this book was wonderful. It help you understand ages and stages and isn't OPINIONATED like some others. It has more than one doctors point of view so you don't feel like it has to0 be one way or the other. I am not a fan of the Dr.Sears way of parenting and this book is a good alternative to that. I think this book is more open minded and less do it this way and that's it.
I highly recommend this book. I understand it doesn't cover EVERYTHING but no book will. Not unless it's the size of an un abriged dictionary.

Book Review: Great Book
Summary: 5 Stars

I think this is an excellent book. My son will be one on Dec.1st and I have already had to look up information. I enjoyed What to Excpect when your Excepting and What to Expect the First Year. There has been some comments made that the book does not support extended breastfeeding, I would think by now they would have bought books that deal with just extended breastfeeding. I know I have have. The book does not discourage extended breastfeeding, but it does help start the weanig pocesses.

If you have enjoyed the first two book this is aonther one to add to your list.

Book Review: A lot of userful advice
Summary: 5 Stars

We turn to a lot of books for helping in raising our daughter (now 2 and a half) and the various issues we face. "What to Expect the Toddler Years" is among our top three, along with Penelope Leach's "Your Baby & Child" and the American Academedy of Pediatrics's "Caring for your Baby and Child". The advice of the three is quite consistent (including on such "hot button issues" as when to wean), but this What to Expect Book provides the greatest help on day-to-day stuff. The philosophy is consistently respectful of the child, and the book is full of useful advice.

Book Review: Just as good as other "What to Expect" books
Summary: 5 Stars

You can't go wrong with the "What to expect" books, I have found. I used the first one, "What to expect the first year," throughout my son's first year. It's such an awesome reference to have on hand. Although I haven't needed to use this one as much -- he gets sick less frequently now, whenever I do have an issue, such as a rash on his neck, or dry skin on his legs, or vaccine-related concerns, this is a great place to refer. It's also come in handy when I need help in the middle of the night and don't think it's necessarily an emergency per se.

Book Review: My "go-to" reference
Summary: 5 Stars

I was so glad to have this book handy through age 3. I kept in it the bathroom and could read snippets during bath time. I also grabbed it in the middle of the night if I had to give medicine or couldn't figure out what to do. I also enjoyed the month to month milestones in their non-threatening format. Being the typical worrying mom, it was nice to see that my little one was on track, or what I should be watching for in the next few months. A must-have that I was happy to pass on to a new mom.
