Book Reviews of Warrior Soul: The Memoir of a Navy Seal

Book Review: Ok, not as many missions
Summary: 3 Stars

Ok read following SEAL training and several missions for Chuck Pfarrer. Not too many missions, more preparations for missions and then stand down. Too much detail about political history of Central America and Beruit. Some personal story with the author himself. Was hoping for more SEAL "action".

Would recommend: Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Seal Team 10 by Seal Marcus Luttrell or The Warrior Elite: The Forging of SEAL Class 228 by Dick Crouch or Suffer in Silence by David Reid

Book Review: Good SEAL story
Summary: 3 Stars

I enjoyed the storyline and the technical information regarding ST 4 and ST 6. Chuck definitely has my respect.
The last chapter, however, was non-sequitar and did little for the book. I am sad to hear about his current medical problems, but I failed to see how he applied his "warrior soul" to this new set of challenges.

I would love to see another book by him.

Book Review: Another Ok Book
Summary: 3 Stars

The author wrote mostly about Lebanon. Perhaps this was his only military experience and wanted to hype it up bit. At any rate it gets boring reading about his trip to Lebanon.

Book Review: Warrior Soul
Summary: 2 Stars

Although this book provides a glimpse inside the Navy Seals from an team leader's perspective, it was generally dry and drawn out ,spending a lot of time on Beruit and providing a lot of background information and editorials on the politics etc of that event that I am not interested in. This guy is a stud- no doubt, but I found myself skipping through the pages to find something interesting.

Book Review: Warrior Soul
Summary: 1 Stars

Author has excellent command of the English language. However, this effort lacks first person accounts of action. The author has been associated with many conflicts but has engaged in few. He has excellent insight into the TEAMS and the careful reader will find details not usually known to civilian pukes.
