Book Reviews of War and PeaceBook Review: Greatest Novel Ever!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best book I have ever read for so many different reason. Tolstoy is absolutely my favorite author and he out did himself with this book. The realism, the historical background, and the depth of the characters made this book so great.
Book Review: War and Peace Summary: 5 Stars
Larissa Volokhonsky and Richard Pevear's translation of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace is fantastic, by far the best. Their translation methodology and commitment to detail is unparallel. Well worth reading even if you've read War and Peace before.
Book Review: Wonderful translation... amazing story Summary: 5 Stars
I had not read other translations of War and Peace, but after reading this translation, I must say that it captured me with its freshness and realness. The story is beautiful, heartbreaking and leaves a lasting imprint on one's mind.
Book Review: the very best Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book. Tolstoy is in a class by himself. And this translation is in a class by itself. My only regret is that the book is only 1220 pages. I could go on reading this kind of writing for the remainder of my life.
Book Review: WAR AND PEACE Summary: 5 Stars
An incomparable translation, one that guarantees you'll revisit or seek out the other Russian novelists for whom, with miraculous success, Pevear and Volokhonsky have created in English a believably authentic Russian soul!
