Book Review: ENJOYABLE SERIES
Summary: 4 Stars
I HAVE READ ALL THE BOOKS IN THE SERIES AND LOOK FORWARD TO ITS CONTINUANCE. IF YOU ENJOY MILITARY SF WITH INTERESTING IDEAS AND WELL DEVELOPED CHARACTERS YOU SHOULD ENJOY THESE BOOKS. I LIKED THIS SECOND IN THE SERIES BETTER THAN THE FIRST DUE TO THE INTRODUCTION OF THE CHARACTER OF TWO GUN. HIS CHARACTER DEVELOPS IN THE LATER BOOKS AND IS A LOT OF FUN.
WARNING
IF YOU ARE NOT INTO HEAVY DOSES OF SCIENCE YOU MAY GET BORED WITH SOME OF THE PHYSICS DROPPED INTO THE PLOT. WHILE I ENJOY SOME SCIENCE IN MY READING THE GOING DOES GET A LITTLE HEAVY AT TIMES.
A SUGGESTION FOR THE AUTHORS
A LOT OF CHARACTERS ARE INTRODUCED IN THESE BOOKS AND THEY OFTEN HAVE THE SAME MILITARY RANK . THERE ARE A LOT OF SERGEANTS TO KEEP TRACK OF. A CAST OF CHARACTERS AND MILITARY TABLE OF ORGANIZATION WOULD REALLY HELP. AT TIMES IT WAS DIFFICULT TO KEEP TRACK OF WHO WAS SUPERIOR TO WHO AND WHAT UNITS THEY WERE IN. CHARACTERS WERE SOMETIMES REFERRED TO BY RANK ALONE AND SINCE YOU HAD LOTS OF SIMILAR RANKS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHO WAS WHO BECAME CONFUSING AT TIMES.
OTHER THAN THOSE TWO ITEMS I FOUND THESE BOOKS A LOT OF FUN AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT IN THE SERIES.
IF YOU LIKE THIS SERIES TRY DAVID DRAKES RCN SERIES FOR MORE GREAT MILITARY SF.

The sequel to Into the Looking Glass. William Weaver, PhD.?and SEAL Chief Miller are back and Bill got himself a ship! The former SSBN Nebraska has been converted, using mostly garage mechanics and baling wire, into a warp ship ready to go "out there." But as everyone knows, the people who really are going to bear the brunt are the poor Security guys, Force Recon Marines who are kept in the dark and fed manure all day. That is until they land on an alien planet, get partially wiped out and then load back up again.?
