Book Review: Glad I bought it Summary: 4 StarsVisual Coloring is a great concept for quilters. The book has fabulous pictures and ideas. The book contains some patterns of the quilts used as examples; however, I would really have liked to have had patterns for each of the sample quilts.
Book Review: An awesome Must Have Book! Summary: 5 StarsWow!! What an awesome book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who apprectiates beautiful quilts and just how hard it is to pick out the perfect fabric. Lots of stunning color combos and info on how to use it in your stash.
Book Review: Review of Visual Coloring Summary: 4 StarsI enjoyed this book. It is visually very appealing. However, I have read every book Joen has ever written and I would say that there are a lot of beautiful pictures to back up a pretty simplistic notion: find fabrics in colors that match color schemes you think are beautiful. And I do think that the quilts created from those palettes were interesting but that they also showed an important corollary that was never explored... if you really love a color combination and want to translate that feeling to a quilt, use similiar proportions of the colors.
So, while I do not think this was Joen's best work on the subject of design, it was excellent eye candy, and reading it was a very pleasant way to spend an evening.
Book Review: wow!! Summary: 5 StarsIf you want people to say "wow" when they see your quilts... you have to read this book! Joen gives very good advise in choosing your colours, starting with a picture you like... There is a lot to see and few to read, it really takes you on a yourney in colours...
Thank you Joen for hours of pure joy!
