Book Reviews of Vision in White (The Bride Quartet, Book 1)

Book Review: Formulaic? Yes. But I loved it anyway!
Summary: 5 Stars

People like to mention, with every review of a book by Nora Roberts, that the author uses the same plot devices time and time again. And they're right - she does. The thing is, it works!

VISION IN WHITE might be formulaic, in that Ms. Roberts once again uses a group of friends who are as close as family who will all inevitably end up in love with another group of friends (or acquaintances), but I enjoyed the story so much and read it in one sitting.

Ms. Roberts has the unique ability that with every single book she writes (including those written as J.D. Robb), I end up crying at least once. This one is no different - I thought the story of Mac having to deal with her mother was very well-written.

I enjoyed the new "background" of this first book in the quartet, in that it centers around four friends who own a business that covers each and every detail of having a wedding. This book's main character, Mac, is a photographer, and I truly enjoyed reading about her job and how she came to love what she does.

The secondary characters - Parker, Emma, Laurel - were all well-rounded, and I'm highly looking forward to reading each of their stories.

So, okay, it's another typical Nora Roberts read. But I couldn't be happier about that.

Book Review: #1 Cover of the Year
Summary: 5 Stars

This is not your average review because this review is for the cover and book itself! I was a huge NR fan when she was doing her historical romances and I tried a couple contemps, but they're just not my cup of tea.

So, in Borders yesterday, I was shopping and looking around, when all of a sudden there's this book that caught my eye. The next thing I know we have a little group gathering talking about how pretty it is.

The cover and book are absolutely stunning! Aside from the wedding gown, it has just a bit of glitter to the border that edges the book and then the page edges are rippled, wavy, kind of like old texts, and all together it is just absolutely gorgeous! (And you can't see all this detailing that makes it so beautiful!)

It's a shame they don't have (or maybe they do) a contest for book covers. There have been some beautiful bookcovers recently i.e. "Confessions of a Little Black Gown, Some Like It Wild, Memoirs of A Scandalous Red Dress, The Shadow Queen, The Twilight Lord..." well you catch my drift. I love the gowns!

So while I can't comment on the story (just yet) the book and cover get a huge 5* from me! I wanted to buy it just to take it home and set out somewhere to look at! =)

Book Review: Fairytale: Vision in White
Summary: 5 Stars

The story line was beautiful..Very romantic and funny.I found myself laughing a lot..I love that they are friends and work together. The other books in the Quartet are awesome as well. Thank you to Roberts for writing these because they are just outstanding. I love all of Nora Roberts books. I hope that it might be made a movie. I think it would be fantastic. I just finished the third book and it was so perfect. I cried with the 3rd book...I can not wait until the last book cones out.

You have to read these books. These are books of friends, there lives, and all the things every women under goes when they get married. I wish I could have found a place like Vows to handle all the details of my own wedding. It is so nice not to have to worry about every little thing, and get all the help from these four women who really care about the work they do. They want to make your day so special and happy. Yet they find love for themselves. I love all the women Parker,Emma,Mac, and Laurel. They share all the ups and downs of there life. I have it very funny when they know when one of there friends has a special night with a guy. I really fell in love with the guys as well.

Book Review: Heart Warming
Summary: 5 Stars

I got an email from NR website letting me know that this book was available, the email described the book as NR's return to straight romance and I was really really hoping that this book would also be a return to the NR I know and love. I wasn't dissapointed!! The last few series that I have read by NR have been very one note and seemed like they all followed the same basic plot and character outline and it was driving me nuts. This is not to say that I didn't buy everyone of them just that they aren't books that I will re-read over and over again the future. Vision in White will be read again and again, especailly since i have it on my Kindle and I can read it whenever I want to! I loved both Mac and Carter's characters. The well thought out descriptions of both Mac and Carter's love for their jobs were amazing and often had me wish that I had that type of love of my job! All in all I loved the story especially about the four women and how you get glimpses of each of their charters throughout the book. It will be very enjoyable to watch/read as they all fall in love in a different way. Bravo Nora!!!

Book Review: A classic Nora Roberts tale
Summary: 5 Stars

Once again, Nora Roberts does not disappoint with her new series, "The Bride Quartet". What readers love about Nora Roberts is that very few of her stories stand alone. Trilogies and series are what makes readers turn to Nora Roberts again and again. This latest series, beginning with the book "Vision in White" is a classic Nora Roberts tale about a tight-knit group of women, who are as close as sisters, that work together and lean on each other to make their dreams reality. The series takes us through the lives of Mac, Laurel, Emma and Parker, who together have started an all-inclusive wedding company called Vows. In this installment of "The Bride Quartet", photographer Mackensie Elliot goes on a journey to find her "Mr. Right", but she never thought he would come in the form of the quiet and nerdy English teacher Carter Maguire. As sparks fly, Mac finds herself having to overcome her fear of love as she becomes powerless to the charming Carter. This book is a refreshing break from the magical worlds of Nora Roberts previous trilogies with heart warming stories that any woman can relate to.
