Book Review: Just Okay

This cookbook is a mixed bag. There are some very good raw and cooked recipes while there are some that are better left untouched. It didn't win me over the way Veganomicon did and it's not as user friendly as the former. There are many ingredients called for that you can only get at specialty stores and that are pricey. I wish more thought was put into making recipes for the average person who doesn't do all their grocery shopping at Whole Foods. People think that going vegan is hard and that they'll have to spend more money on obscure ingredients. This book makes those concerns true so I wouldn't recommend this to someone with little cooking ability, new to veganism, or who can't get their hands on spelt flour. They do have tasty soups and I would recommend that entire chapter to anyone.
