Book Review: Dull and hard to plow through

***Spoilers****This is my first book by this author. I've heard a lot about her and decided to give her a try. After this book has been in my TBR for over a year, I finally settled down and dove in. Sadly, I wasn't too impressed. I thought the book started off great, but as soon as Jane and her team of friends showed up, I was turned off. The whole hospital hostage situation was completely unbelievable and there's a sense that the author isn't technologically caught up with the times. A VCR tape...really? Everything is digital nowadays and even if the House Mother was working with something this old, it's surprising that Jane and Gabriel still had a VCR. A man like Joe, who has trip wire all around his house would have surely transferred the tape to something downloadable. They would have massed emailed that to every news organization(convenient that they ran into a guy like Joe, huh?) and it would've been a done deal. Why didn't these professional killers clean up the Ashburn crime scene? There was a lot of things, but those were the main problems that kept me frowning at the book. The overall writing was okay, but the whole whole new mommy issues bored me. Plus, I hated I book the hardbook version and also didn't know it was part of a series. For the title and cover, it wasn't as suspenseful as I'd hoped.
