Book Review: "O you were a vampire ,and baby I'm the walking dead"
Summary: 4 Stars
I loved this book! It was a bit slow to start, but enter the Vampire and things get rollin! I found myself sneaking time from my day, or staying up very late, just to get in a few chapters. As a Massapequan I found it amusing to my hometown references. As a teen in the late 80's I could relate to the mindset of the kids,and their broad taste in music ranging from AC/DC to REM. Any non Long Islander might think these kids eat too many bagels and pizza...........oh yeah wait we do. :) I loved the Vampire and his growing clan. I took the underdog side of the story so by the end I found myself now needing a sequel. So what's the word Brett?
Summary of Vampire:1989
TELL YOUR FRIENDS! PARENT-FREE PARTYING IN MASSAPEQUA! It is August of 1989, and Mike Aufiero has just graduated high school. The annual summer escape to the Adirondacks is not the thrill he had hoped it would be, and he soon arranges to return to Long Island. There, he and his sister have run of the family's house, and the freedom to live it up in his last summer before college! Unfortunately, a seemingly-harmless errand has brought a dark presence back to Massapequa, and Mike is not the only one with plans for the summer. It is not long before Mike and his friends find themselves embroiled in a vampire's plot to found a new coven on Long Island, and it will suffer no interference. Finding little or no support from parents or the police, the teenagers are now forced to confront the vampire and his rapidly-growing group of followers, which now even include several of their own friends.
