Book Review: Great Vampire Story

I have really been getting into the series since the last book. I think it is because Valentine is getting to be more personable. He has been exiled from the rebellion. But they still have a mission for him. They need him to infiltrate the Seattle vampire.
The story goes through many misadventures joining different groups and being kicked out or leaving. Where he goes shows how bad humanity has degraded but also shows how everyone has managed to keep surviving. It was surprising to see Valentine join up with the vampire's side. But I can understand why he did it.
I do have to say that the shock of what happened with his child caught me unexpected. But I was disappointed at how it was explained. I will say that I liked Blaine and how they were working with him to over come his natural self. I am excited for the next book to see if he has a bigger role.
Summary of Valentine's Resolve (Vampire Earth, Book 6)
After three years of exile from humanity's war against the Kurians, David Valentine returns to battle. The Lifeweavers, Earth's allies in the conflict, have all but vanished, and without them mankind cannot possibly stand against their alien enemies.Many of the Lightweavers are held captive by a Kurian overlord. To free them, Valentine must convince the Marshal, a legendary resistance fighter with a grudge against the Kurians, to join his cause. But the Marshal is something of a dictator himself, ruling over his men with an iron fist-and giving Valentine a new enemy to fight.
