Book Reviews of VW Transporter & Microbus: Specification Guide 1967-1979Book Review: An excellent book! Summary: 5 StarsThis is truly an amazing book, packed with information. The layout and use of pictures is professional. There are lots of tables, listing engine codes, opional equipment codes, chassis numbers, paint codes and so on. Maybe a bit too many tables for my taste but this imformation is a viable part of any reference guide. Many of the pictures are small, to pack several pictures on the same page. But this is well done and the right way to do it.
The author has done a tremendous research on the Bay, and it is quite impressive. Interesting chapter on Transportes at work, special models for fire and ambulance duty. There are also useful pictures to show differences and improvements made during the models lifespan.
The only thing I wish for, is that the chapter on exterior paintwork could have had some pictures to show what some of the color names actually look like.
This is a top book, I give it my highest recommandation!
Book Review: Wunderbar Summary: 5 StarsVW books are plentiful but this is the first one that really gives the Type 2 baywindow bus the attention it deserves. A wonderful history, fascinating factory photos and of course, more details than you can possibly commit to memory.
