Book Reviews of Un, Deux, Trois: First French Rhymes (Book & CD) (French Edition)Book Review: Not so great Summary: 2 Stars
The book is all french rhymes, riddles, a lot of nonsense and very difficult for young children. The CD is hard to listen to. I have it in the car for my daughters and it is too hard to follow.
If you want your kids to begin with french, the CD First Steps in French is wonderful. In a month my kids are singing in french.
Book Review: Fun rhymes but no translations Summary: 2 Stars
This is a fun, illustrated book with a cd to go with it. We have learned a couple of the rhymes. But it doesn't have a translation in English so it has not been a very good tool for us.
Book Review: Boring Summary: 1 Stars
I don't quite understand the other reviews. I am French from France. I bought this CD for my 3 year old daughter. I don't know 3 quarters of the songs!! France has so many wonderful and rythmic nursery rhymes. This has to be a selection of the most unknown ones. My daughter enjoys : "Un elephant qui se balançait, Jean de La Lune, Promenons nous dans les bois, à la pêche aux moules...", not this selection of cold songs. I believe that "fun" is a huge factor in teaching children a language (or anything else for that matter). There is not much fun in this book.
Book Review: annoying! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought that book & cd because most of the reviews were good. I am a native speaker myself and I find this book to be a total waste a money. I am totally agree with the other French lady who posted a review, this is awful. I don't find it fun at all, and I am truly surprised to see that people are considering it as a tool to learn French.
