Book Review: Absolutely the best. No doubt.

When I opened the package to take this out, I was a little in doubt of its contents because of the bad toy guides I have gotten in the past. Totally not this one. I wanted to write this review because this is the #1 best 3 3/4" Joe guide out there, hands down. First, it's accurate with pictures of every charcter, vehicle, weapon and accessory from 1982-1994. Second, the pictures are clear and the whole book is easily layed out as prices and accessories are right next to each toy. Third, the secondary information (biographies, military specs) provided makes this read like a good book, and it looks like the author got some really cool unpublished information from either Hasbro or the man who created G.I. Joe for Marvel Comics. This is what impressed me the most - it is a book I can read. Really, it is a book for any hardcore fan, but even a better present for G.I. Joe toy fans. In conclusion, if you're looking to piece together figures and vehicles from a box of loose parts, this is absolutely for you collectors or dealers for sure. But if you are a big Joe fan, this is especially for you as well, as I learned a lot about the military, and really a lot about the characters. Information I never knew before I read this book. A must read. Buy. This. Book. Right. Now. Like the guy before me said. Bible.
Book Review: I HAVE WAITED YEARS FOR THIS!!!!!

I bought this when I saw it advertized online and thought I'd give it a chance. WHAT A PAY OFF!!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!! I already have a bunch of little Joe guides (Desimone's, Lee's), and didn't know what to expect. And from the first page to the very last image, this is the most important book I ever read on 3 3/4" Joes. Not only will it help me complete my collection with piecing figures and vehicles together, I think it says there are 1300 pics in the book - but there's a BUNCH more, AND ALL FULL COLOR. The guy who created G.I. Joe wrote the intro, and its really insightful!!! This is the most imformational action figure guide I've ever seen, Star Wars, Transformers, whatever. The research it must have taken to put this together is ASTOUNDING cause there are blurbs for every single figure (500+ with little bios and notes from Hasbro resources and file cards) every vehicle (300+ with technical details like ACTUAL MISSILE NAMES) and accessory (even variations!!!). This is like a Joe Bible. And even if your not a Joe fan, like you just watched the cartoon - the memories that come back from reading this thing!!! TEN STARS!!! AWESOME!!! This book blew me away. Waaaay too much good infomation on ol' Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, and the rest of the Joes. I have the other two guides, but they don't come close in terms of bang for your buck, pics, or info on every aspect of the Joes. Super high quality paper stock, full color, all variations, great layout, and written by a dude who knows of what he speaks. I can finally complete my collection and feel safe that there's a trustworthy 3 3/4" Joe guide out there. If you're even a LITTLE bit into LITTLE joes, then you've gotta buy this book. Worth every penny, and more - I would have paid $50 for this book! I must admit, I actually bought two copies of this guide - one to write my notations in, and one to keep clean. Excellent reference guide for 1982-94 3/4" G.I. Joes & Accessories! With a forward and additional notes from Larry Hama, and countless pictures of all of the first generation of 3/4" G.I. Joes, vehicles, play-sets, and accessories, Mark Bellomo does a great job in covering everything with pictures and descriptions. If anything, we could have been treated to a few more pictures: notably better angles of some of the vehicles & play-sets and close-ups of the rarer items and/or more shots of the packaging. Perhaps the newer edition has these, but I got this one for the great price in comparison to the revised edition. Makes a great book end for Bellomo's Transformers guide of the same era, which is also very good. Highly recommended books, both!Book Review: Best book I ever bought!! Best way to spend $20!! It's amazing to me how the 80's revival with cartoons and their toys keeps climbing in interest with such products as G.I. Joe, the Transformers, He-Man, etc. I try and collect all of those different toy lines, and RARELY, if ever, do I find a toy "price guide" that is MORE THAN A PRICE GUIDE. THIS IS THE ONE!!! The Ultimate Guide to GIJOE has everything ANYONE is looking for: high-quality pictures, solid information, accuracy, knowledge, and fun, as the gentleman who wrote this has a great sense of humor and is an excellent writer himself. HAH!!! ANY Joe fan should buy this and then either buy more to give their friends or give them this link!!! Do it right now!!!
