Book Reviews of UGLY's Electrical References, 2008 EditionBook Review: Great for practical applications Summary: 5 Stars
I am a master electrician and have been involved in the electrical and engineering fields for 40 years. I also teach electrical and maintenance classes. This book, regardless of the year published, is my preferred text book and reference for all maintenance and electrical classes. It gives you a vast amount of info that is readily applicable to the people that actually do the work. A theoretician my not appreciate it, but when the "rubber meets the road", I heartily reccomend that every journeyman electrician or maintenance man have one in their tool box.
Book Review: it's a reference book only Summary: 5 Stars
this book is exactly what i wanted and expected.. a handy reference book useful for carrying around on a daily basis when you are working with anything electrical.. i also bought the Ugly's motors book but haven't received it yet.. if what you're looking for is a handy reference book with formulas and tables and some diagrams.. then this is the book.. this is not a book to teach you electrical.. there are plenty of other books to do that..
Book Review: good resource Summary: 5 Stars
I teach at a technical post secondary school and use this for my courses.
I used an older version when I was working in the field as an electrician.
More useful than the code book, but does not contain the obscure application details that the code sometimes delivers .
Best everyday resource for working electricians or educators like myself.
Book Review: Everything you need to know and more. Summary: 5 Stars
I've used UGLY's for years, had to get a new one for my new job. This book has everything an electrician would need to know on the job and then some. Short of having to wire up a nuclear sub, UGLY's will get you through the task.
Book Review: Electricians best friend Summary: 5 Stars
I got my first Ugly's book in 1987 and have been buying them for my Journeymen for the past 10 years. Small enough to keep in the glove box or tool bag. Just a great reference guide for anyone in the electrical trade.
