Book Review: THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE BORDERS TWILIGHT CALENDAR: SUPPLY AND DEMAND RULES AGAIN

As an economist, counselor, and a Twilight junkie, I'm amused and appalled by what's going on with the price of this item. First off, its price indicates that the basic premise of economics works: The higher the demand and smaller the supply, the higher the price.
Or rather, price will rise until the market is cleared: All the Twilight calendars are gone at whatever price people are willing to pay for them. Some people on this review thread were complaining when the price was $50. As I write it, it's over $70. How high will it go?
That remains to be seen. I jumped to Borders' site. Sold out. I'm looking on the net right now and finding the only availability is Amazon (at whatever price) and eBay. eBay is an auction; auctions are economists' dreams and examples of pure markets: The individual with the highest utility for (desire for) the item AND the ability to pay for it, gets the goodie.
At what price?
Watch what happens over time. Smart capitalists would print more calendars and reap the profit. So watch and wait, consumers: More calendars, or slightly altered calendars, may become available from Borders or other sources. We may also see rip-offs coming from all over the world. (But, since this is branded merchandise merchandise, this may not happen.)
What a great phenomenon to witness! They're taking orders for 2010! This reminds me of 1964, when a friend of mine called and said, "There's this great new band. Have you heard of them? They're called, 'The Beatles'?" We were freshmen in college. We all knew what happened next. This is that sort of mass phenomenon.
Twilight fans! Get a hold of yourselves! This is a calendar. Don't spend your hard earned dollars on a calendar.
Unless you must. I understand. Not me, though. I pay $15 for a $15 dollar item. I'm waiting to see what happens. If they have any brains at all, Borders is churning out more right now.
Aren't they? Please? I hope. So much.
