Book Reviews of Tri-Go Pencil Grips

Book Review: Clunky, unpractical.
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought these for my son who started Kindergarten this last year. His handwriting is horrible and I was hoping it was due to how he was holding his pencil. I had heard good things about the pencil grips and bought a pack of these to try (I got the big pack because I KNOW that my son is bound to lose a few) out on him. First of all, these only fit certain pencils. They don't fit the average pencil, they slide around horribly. I bought some round pencils that they grip much tighter and my son still had an issue using them. They make him have to grip up so high from the bottom of the pencil that it creates even worse printing than it did without the grip. I thought maybe this was just my son and because he was new to printing so I offered them to my 11 year old to try and also tried one myself. My 11 year old said they made her hand ache after just a few minutes of writing with it (because of the way she had to tilt her hand), her penmanship was much worse and they only got about 10 minutes of use. I found that they were just bulky and clunky, it took me a moment to figure out where my fingers and thumb went and my penmanship also suffered as a result of using it. It is just not practical to use - for someone learning to hold a pencil and print or for someone who writes a lot. I can see no use for these grips at all. Absolute waste of money!
