Book Reviews of Treat Your Own BackBook Review: How to fix your back and keep it right. Summary: 5 Stars
The old edition of this book was given to me by a physiotherapist 35 years ago when I had small children and had lower back pain. I have used it and have given it away many times over the years. It shows how to correct lower back problems due to strain and how to maintain a strong back to prevent pain. This new edition explains more and is very very good. Because of this book I have never needed to visit a chiropractor or any doctor for my back.
Book Review: BRAVO Summary: 5 Stars
I had surgery for two ruptured disks 15 years ago but have had chronic pain off and on ever since. I had tried a variety of other exercises with limited success. My doctor's niece is a physical therapist and had recommended the book to him and he passed on the advise.Within four days my pain disappeared and I have been pain free ever since. I can not recommend this book enough to people suffering from back pain. Buy it...you won't regret it!
Book Review: A-freaking-MAZING! Summary: 5 Stars
I spent hundreds over the last year at a Naprapath (who was really good) after being diagnosed with a bulging disk. But, even he didn't fix me like the 3-step "Emergency" exercise in this book! That's the only exercise I do daily in this book .... and I've been PAIN-FREE since I did that exercise the FIRST time! It's been 1-1/2 months! And all it cost me was 12 bucks. Who knew?! This doc rocques!!! :)
Book Review: Treat Your Own Back Summary: 5 Stars
I was previously familiar with the McKenzie exercises from going to physical therapy. However, this is the first time I really went to the source to read up on the techniques. If you do the exercises faithfully (initially every two hours) you will achieve results and be able to manage your low back issues. Highly recommended if you wish to self-manage any back issues. His neck book is quite good as well.
Book Review: The best! Summary: 5 Stars
The McKenzie exercises are considered the "way-to-go" for both recovering from back problems and for life-long maintenance. Also, as long as your pain is not too severe, these exercises will save most people who suffer from lower back problems from going under the surgeon's knife. It seems that today, most knowledgeable physicians recommend this book for patients with chronic back problems.
