Tony Hawk Professional Skateboarder

The book is about the life of Tony Hawk who used to be a professional skateboarder. He was a very famous skateboarder and won many championships. I chose this book because I am interested in the world of professional skateboarding. Also I know that Tony Hawk is a well accomplished person in more that just skateboarding. Even though he is most known for being a professional skateboarder he never even thought of it until he was 11 years old. Also there were many points in his life that he wanted to quit.
So even though Tony Hawk is one of the best skateboarders of all time he had many ups and downs in his life. Also it took him a while to figure out that he loved skateboarding. He was 11 years old and he saw his older brother hanging with his friends and they were on skateboards. So he was inspired to do it for a living. It's not just that moment his parents have also helped a lot in his life. They have supported him in everything he has done in his life smart or stupid. However even with all the help of his parents he still had a rough time when skateboarding was getting very unpopular. He started to make a lot less money than he used to. Also all of his investments were doing really badly and all of them had to do with skateboarding.
The reason all of the things that happened in his life are important to him is because all of them helped him realize his destiny. Like his parents helping him all throughout his life. The only reason that skateboarding is even a sport today is because Tony's dad made a new skating organization. He called it the NSA, and it made skateboarding what it is today. Also his parents helped him out in many other ways. They would always drive him to skate parks for competition and practicing and they waited even if it took all day. Speaking of Tony's parents supporting what he did. When Tony was in his mid 20's he and his friend Stacy Peralta made the company birdhouse. And at first it was going completely down the drain and they were losing more money than they were making. However his parents still supported him and today it is a very famous and well known company.
"I don't think I would ever have made it this far if it wasn't for my parents." Like I've been saying the only reason that Tony made it big is because his parents were very supportive and he feels the same way. "At the time my favorite skateboarder was Steve Caballero, and he made a big impact in my life." Another thing that I would like to prove is that he didn't always want to be a skater. Also that people like Steve and a guy named Stacy Peralta are the reasons why he is what he is today.
I think that when Tony Hawk was writing this book it helped him remember all the great and horrible things that have happened in his life. Also if you were alive around the time he was a kid and you read this book you would realize that you could've known him. Also he was a geek in school so if you knew him you would most likely be beating your self up about it know that you could be good friends with a legend.

Summary of Tony Hawk: Professional Skateboarder

In this young adult autobiography, Tony Hawk shares the stories from his life that have helped him become a skateboarding hero.

Hawk speaks of being a super-competitive 'demon' child who found peace while on a skateboard. Classmates teased him because of his interest in an 'uncool' sport. Instead of retaliating with violence, he practiced even more. With his story, he will inspire a younger generation of fans to stand up for what they believe in and follow their dreams.
