Book Reviews of To Hell and Back: An Autobiography

Book Review: Decades of Decadence
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the tale of Marvin Lee Aday. AKA Meat Loaf. This fills in all the blanks in his life. You see where he came from, where he went and how he got there. It is told with comic irreverence. It shows you hte hell it is to be a struggling musician, and the hell it is to be a successful one. If you hve never read a Rock biography, I recommend this one because Meat is not your typical strung our junkie that most Rock bio's exault.
Thanx for your time, T

Book Review: Meat Loaf To Hell And Back
Summary: 5 Stars

Meat Loaf tells his story of childhood torment, the rise to fame and the despair that followed in heartwrenching detail. And with tongue firmly implanted in cheek he recounts his 17 concussions. As I sat in a public place reading this book, I found myself alternately stifling laughter and wiping tears. The words and photos lend definition to the man behind the voice we've known for years. He has risen to the top once again, right where he belongs.

Book Review: Meat Loaf's meteoric rise and fall and phoenix-like ascent
Summary: 5 Stars

Meat Loaf has always been portrayed in a heroic, over-the-top light--bombastic, some even say. But Meat Loaf's story (which you won't believe until you read it, maybe not even after you read it) is a series of absorbing vignettes that is strung into his life story. If you call yourself a fan, just having all of his albums won't do--buy the book and amaze yourself with things you never knew about the man behind the music.

Colour photos included.

Book Review: Meat Loaf explains it all!
Summary: 5 Stars

I enjoyed the way this book reads like a conversation with Meat Loaf, it's seems to be like one big interview. He tells his life in small seperate stories like he is speaking directly with the reader. I like how he/David Dalton brought out the humor in every situation. The reader sometimes wants to laugh and cry all at the same time. I believe all these stories come straight from Meat's heart! It is a fast and enjoyable read.

Book Review: WOW! A rock autobio written with style/wit - a GREAT read!
Summary: 5 Stars

Finally, a rock autobio written in a breezy, engaging style that sheds insight into one of the more fascinating stars of the genre. Unlike most flights of egotistical fancy that pass for most autobios, TO HELL AND BACK includes candid photos and a cool design to help the revealing prose provide an unexpectedly lucid and honest insight into a very complex and multi-talented man. Even those who are not fans will be enthralled.
