Most of the pictures tell the story, yet those pictures often show up time and again in disparate published works, thereby shielding the reader from the human pathos of this era and the character and plight of the men and women who lived through it.
This book recreates the facts and events leading up to the Dust Bowl in the context of the world around it. The inclusion of and impetus for the resource management decisions made in this pioneering time demonstrates the research and factual basis for this wonderful book.
