Book Review: Reddy for More

I've been a Helen Reddy fan for over 30 years and was excited to hear about an autobiography about her life. But like the some of her records, I was disappointed in the lack-luster spirit by which she chose to write. No detail, no specifics; nothing that spoke of a woman that keep me following her career for so many years. Come on Helen, after 30 years I was hoping for more. The People Magazine article in 1982 gave more details about your life than this book! While this book was a welcome addition to my admiration of a long career, for a true Reddy fan such as myself, I wanted more! This is no way to treat a fan!
By the way, Helen is exceptional in concert; fun, interactive, energenic, enthusiastic, and emotional. She's also this way in person and during interviews. Unfortunately, this book left me wanting to know why someone with such talent, such passion, would leave people asking what's the point.
I'm always Reddy for more Helen though!

I actually went to her book signing here in LA and this Woman was a Total WITCH(amazon wont allow me to use the word I would like to). First off, she wouldnt sign any Memorabilia at all and there was no excuse for this since hardly anyone showed up for the signing(about 20 people)so its not like she didnt have the time. She wasalso very unfriendly, When it was my turn to get the book signed, she didnt even look at me or say anything, just signed the book and slid it across the table. I guess she is Pissed because she is a HAS BEEN who hasnt had a hit since 1975! I did read some of the book and all she does is WHINE! Goes on about how all three husbands screwed her over, she takes no responibility for her actions. She is so childish in fact, that she doesnt even name her husbands, just calls them Husbands # 1 #2 and #3, very childish! She blames her faultering career on the record companies, how they wont promote her cd's and the industry prefers young singers, not some old bag in her 60's like she is. Helen reddy has always been nothing but a Second rate singer who had a couple cute songs out, she should appreciate and be grateful that anyone would want her autograph. One poor woman in line just wanted Helen Reddy to sign her cassette tape and helen Refused , COLD! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY, This old cow doesnt deserve it! Some of The People who have read my review are offended by what I have said about Helen Reddy! All I Know is that I met her and you people didnt. I stand by what I have said, Helen reddy is Not a Nice Person and I base that on my experience with her at the book signing.
