We received this book as a gift when my son was about 1. He LOVED it - it was without a doubt his favorite. It was a bit difficult to read to him early on as he wanted to pull the pop-up parts off, but he never tired of the very last page. I have since bought this book for many friends as baby gifts. We were first introduced to this book at the storytime program at our local library this past Summer. My kids fell in love with it!! The animals literally pop out from the page. Not only that, but if you slightly open and close the book on each page, it looks like the animals mouths are moving. The ending of the book is great. I gave this book recently to my friend's young daughter for her6th birthday and my friend told me that her kids now want to have thisbook read to them every night! This book is absolutely delightful! I read to children weekly at (a retail store) and this is the most requested story. From ages 1-10, children love to make their own mouths wide, and extremely small, just like the frog. Even the end is always great for a laugh. My dad used to tell us this story when we were small children. I bought the book for my daughter to give to him for his birthday. I can't wait to see his reaction as he hasn't told the story in probably 18 years. The pop up version adds extra amusement!
