Book Reviews of The Way You Love Me: A Grayson Friends Novel (Grayson Novels)

Book Review: Undercover Love Revealed
Summary: 5 Stars

"The Way You Love Me" -- Shane Elliot's and Paige Albright's story is truly wonderful. I am glad that Shane has finally began to love again. When first introduced during his friend's Faith's story -- Shane was a man who had suffered a love loss and therefore thought he had hardened his heart where love was concerned. Now, the ice has started to melt when he meets Paige during a stakeout several months earlier.

While Paige is trying to keep tabs on her mother, who is visiting Trent and Dominique Falcon Masters, Shane tackles her before she has a chance to reveal herself. Thinking Paige was a threat to his boss and friend, Blade Navarrone and Blade's wife, Sierra Grayson, Shane frightens her and sends Paige away. However, that's not the end of Paige, but the beginning for both Shane and Paige. Neither can forget that fateful dark night. For Shane, it is a "wake-up" call. Since that time, Shane has had many sleepless night. His partner and close friend, Rio is aware that something has changed with Shane since that night at Trent's. Shane denies it and refuses to believe that the lady in black, who is Paige, has left her mark on him, but Shane cannot forget the feel of her nor the smell of her. So when Paige's mother comes to Blade and requests Shane's help to protect her daughter, Shane is reluctant and refuses. However, Mrs. Albright will do whatever it takes to protect Paige from the claws and clenches of money-grubbing Russell, who wants to wed Paige because she is due to inherit millions on her birthday which is approximately four months away. Mrs. Albright's son who she gave away at birth, Trent, has confidence that Shane is the man if any to protect Paige. So with Mrs. Albright's constant pleas, Shane reluctantly, against his wishes, agrees to stay in Mrs. Albright's home to keep and eye on Paige.

As things happen and where love is concern, the heart knows. It's not always what you want, but what the heart dictates. With Paige, who is gentle, sweet, innocent, she wants to do what she thinks her deceased father would desire -- that is to marry Russell. However, Shane is now in the picture and Shane has other thoughts. Not only Shane, but Paige's two wards/foster children can also see Russell for what he is -- a no good, money grubbing man, who only wants Paige for her inheritance. Let's not leave Paige out -- she is also smart and began to have her doubts about Russell before it is too late. Paige realizes that she wants to have a man that loves her for who she is, not what she is worth in dollars. Paige is actually a romantic and envisions her wedding, wedding night and the rest of her life with the man she loves. Paige knows this man is not Russell as the spark is not there. Definitely, not since she has felt the touch of Shane, who she does not realize was him, that long dark night. Also, when Shane comes into her mother's home and Paige is also living there, a flame has ignited between Paige and Shane -- one she nor Shane can deny.

"The Way You Love Me" is Paige's idea of the way love should me. In this book, Ms. Ray has not only given us Shane's story, but also reunited us with Blade and Sierra, Rio, and some of the other Grayson family.
