As Lisa's visions of murder, as well as horrible images from her past become increasingly vivid, she seeks the help of Dr. Rennick. Danny has no clues to help lead to the capture of the killer, with nowhere to turn, he also, seeks the help of Dr. Rennick. At first Rennick does want to get involved, but after finding out one of the victims was a friend of his, he agrees. Taking Lisa as a patient, his first goal is to try and figure what the visions are, and what do they mean, but as the sessions continue, Rennick finds out Lisa is actually seeing the murders. Rennick, Lisa and Talon begin working together to put a stop to the vicious madman. Talon is hesitant about working with Lisa, but as her visions describe things in great detail, he decides he can you use all the help he can get. "The Visionary" is an excellent, well written, fast-paced thriller, complete with a shocking ending. Anyone looking for great entertainment (and that is what this book is...ENTERTAINMENT) should pick up this novel. If "The Visionary" is any indication of what to expect from Don Passman, I will add his name to my MUST READ author list. Nick Gonnella
Summary of The VisionaryLisa Cleary has been plagued with psychic visions all her life. But now her visions are of horrifying murders. Detective Danny Talon is on an urgent mission to find the violent killer of three young women. Lisa and Danny each ask eminent psychiatrist Dr. Michael Rennick for help -- and Rennick discovers the three of them are lost in the same web of murder...and the killer has them in sight. If you were Madonna's lawyer and were writing your first thriller, wouldn't you put in a part she would love to play when it became a movie? Don Passman must have had that in mind as he created the character of Lisa Cleary, a hard-working accountant who has visions of murders. As the visions become more persistent, they also become more sinister, and Lisa foresees real-life killings. Her unwanted ability brings Lisa to the attention of two men. LAPD detective Danny Talon, who is investigating a series of killings, and UCLA law professor and psychiatrist Dr. Michael Rennick, who knew one of the victims. All the characters are well developed, with many personal quirks and secret weaknesses, but Lisa is clearly the one Passman spent the most time on. Her reactions to the visions she sees are extremely interesting, especially as members of her own family become suspects in the murder investigation. It's the kind of part for which Academy Awards are handed out, and Madonna's name just might be attached someday soon. --Dick Adler
