Book Review: The only book you need

My husband and I used this book on our recent trip to Kauai. It was indispensable - the reviews were honest and unbiased, but more importantly, this book helps you find all the "off the beaten path" information that you won't find in a Frommer's or Fodor's. For hotel info, I usually use tripadvisor, but this is great for everything else. We got DETAILED info on hikes, secret waterfalls (with explicit directions on how to find), etc. Same goes for Maui revealed. Get this book. Great maps, too!Book Review: Great Guide Book

We just returned from 8 nights in Kauai. We used this book as our exclusive guide on what to do and where to eat. We had a great time and enjoyed every activity and every meal we chose. It was right on every time. We went to a restaurant which the book said was good but had small portions, and it was good but had small portions. I was telling a friend about the hikes and other things we did, and he replied: "How did you know to do all those things?" Andrew Doughtys'guide books of the Hawaiian islands take you to the best places and finds you the best deals. Detailed maps and directions point you to many hard to find attractions and beach access trails.
He gives many safety tips about swimming conditions and hiking trails. His gentle but honest ratings of sights, activities, hotels, and restaurants are very accurate.
This is a great guide book to use before going to the islands to plan your trip.

I was given this book as a gift right before I left on my honeymoon. As a result, we had a week that was planned and filled every day with exactly what we were wanting, along with perfect directions to get there. My favorite tidbit from the book got us to a scary rope swing that dropped you off into a beautiful pool of water. To get back out, you climb the roots of a Banyan tree. I have given this book as a gift several times, and it's so easy to navigate and find what you want.Book Review: A GREAT Help

This book helped us out sooooo much while we were in Kauai. My husband didn't read the book, but ended up using it a ton. I, on the other hand, had read the entire book and had highlighted stuff. This made it a ton easier to figure out what we wanted to do. The only section that we didn't necessarily agree with was the restaurant section. We didn't go to too many, but food is food. You find stuff you like. And crazy excellent food is always hard to find. Kauai is no different.
