What a great book to have for a trip to Kauai.....or most anywhere. We travel frequently and always buy and use these books as a guide. We are able to see things that are not in other travel books...which is great as we like to see as much as we can while we are there---and not just the touristy things. We always read the reviews of hotels, restaurants, and tour companies before going or booking trips....and have not been 'steered wrong' by the authors yet. I am so glad there are "The Ultimate _______ Guidebook" for many places we go! The one for Kauai was a great help for decision making on what to do and where to go.Book Review: the ultimate kauai guideblook

As first time visitors to Kauai I purchased several books and videos so we could get the most out of our visit. Out of all the books my husband and I absolutely loved this book. It gave details the other books did not and little known facts also. The book described in detail how to get to the locations spoke about. I told several people about some of the things we went to and this was the book we were using while over there. Time and again it was the book we turned to for directions and information. I will be purchasing the other ultamite guidebooks for the islands as we go to them. It's a must have!Book Review: Best Guidebook I've every used.

There isn't much to say, I've traveled around both the US and Europe and have used many guidebooks, most of which I thought we're hard to read, unorganized and basically was a gathering of information putout by the local business organizations and whoever paid for a spot in the book. This guide is non of these, its the best guide book I've ever read and beyond it all, its useful. It points out the best hidden locations, adventurous spots, restaurants, lodging and even snow cones. This book was my bible during my trip to Kauai, I just wish I had the editions for the other islands when I made trips there.Book Review: fantastic resource

This book was recommended to me by a "Kauai expert"as a must have. I can safely say that I am amazed at all the info and I know that we will have some inside spots/things to do with the help of this book! Only wish I would have gotten the big island version for our trip last year but I did snag the Oahu version for the time we will be there since this book was truely informative. Starting with history of the islands and the basics the layout of the book is super helpful/friendly and it has great maps as well as pictures! My only complaint is that is makes me want to be there already! Hawaii or bust! A+Book Review: Most Outstanding Guidebook!

If you're going to Kauai or just thinking about going to Kauai, this guidebook is an absolute must buy! I heard about this guidebook from a coworker who had also used it. I looked through his book to see if Kauai was a place that appealed to us. I then bought my own to plan our trip to Kauai and used it there in June 2009. The "Ono" ratings for the restaurants were right on! The beach descriptions were accurate. And the hotel recommendation made our 30th wedding anniversary celebration a very enjoyable experience. We used the book for 7 days and don't know what we would have done without it!
