Book Reviews of The Twilight Zone CompanionBook Review: A Must-have for Fans of the Show! Summary: 5 Stars
I was watching a Twilight Zone marathon the other day and found myself constantly referring to this book each time I saw an actor with a familiar face. This would lead me to look at other interesting tidbits that the author has gleamed. There is a treasure-trove of information about each episode smartly laid out in chronological order with a complete index at the end for easy reference. Each episode has a very well written synopsis so if you find yourself interrupted during an episode you never saw before, you can always read in detail what you missed.
This is well worth the $10.85 that Amazon is offering it for and it is probably the best companion book to a television series that I have ever seen!
Book Review: A Must Have For TZ Fans Summary: 5 Stars
I got a copy of the Twilight Zone Companion back in the 80's, probably not long after publication. It has been very helpful as my goal is to see every TZ episode. As of today, I have seen 145. I have used mine so much it fell out of its binding years ago. Zicree took the time to put this book together in a very helpful format.I only wish that he would have put the episodes in order of their airing date. There were a few mistakes (left out words) in the first edition text with Rod Serlings opening and closing episode dialogs. Hopefully this has been corrected in the second printing. I have been in search for a new one and am so excited to find I can order one. If you are a die hard TZ fan, get your copy today.
Book Review: An great book to have on hand while watching Twilight Zone. Summary: 5 Stars
Widely regarded as the best anthology TV series ever, as well as perhaps the best Science Fiction show, the Twilight Zone has many fans.
This book lists every episode, and includes the story introductions and concluding monologues, as spoken by Rod Serling on the show.
Marc Scott Zicree also reviews all the episodes, as well as provides interviews and backgrounds by some of those that worked on the show, including the writers and directors.
Also included is some dialog from the series, and some biographical information on Serling. The updated version includes information on the new series, and an expanded index.
A must-have for fans of the series and of Rod Serling.
Book Review: One of my three favorite books Summary: 5 Stars
This has to be one of my three favorite books. The other two are "The Outer Limits Companion" by David Schow and "The Alfred Hitchcock Presents Companion" by Martin Grams. Like those books, The Alfred Hitchcock Presents Companion covers the complete background production, synposis and episode guide, rare photos, and magnificent documentary approach. Great biography about Rod Serling, superb background on each broadcast, nice chapter about Serling's Night Gallery and the other Serling programs including 1980s version of TZ, and more. Great photos. To make it short and sweet (and I mean this literally) this the hands-down, ultimate book on the subject. Buy it!
Book Review: Very excellent book Summary: 5 Stars
I love this book!!! It has everything for a twilight zone fan. It first has an introduction to Rod Serling Then goes on to tell about the show. Then it explains about each season and has every episode in order by air date. Every episode has a picture information about the episode including Rods introduction and outro,Who it was written by, the producer, Director and a few other things plus the sum of the episode then goes into a sort of interveiw with special people behind the twilight zone. so basically your learnign something special about every episode. It has all the information you would need about the twilight zone. It was a spectacular book. I suggest it as a BUY!!!
