Book Reviews of The Truth about Forever (Teen's Top 10 (Awards))

Book Review: AWESOME BOOK...SO LOVED IT
Summary: 5 Stars

I could not put this book down, it was seriously that good.

The story has an important message that everyone is faced with at some point, although it takes others longer to learn.

The main character, is a person everyone can relate to. She's 17-year-old, Macy Queen, who is trying to cope with her father's death, but her mother hides herself in her work and won't talk about it, therefore leaving Macy all on her own with her feelings.

She buries herself in school work and trying to be perfect, cause she thinks that's what her mother wants from her. Her ever-so-perfect boyfriend, who is away at Brain Camp for the summer, leaves her his scum job at the library with two very snotty girls who hate Macy.

Things change for her when she gets a job for Wish Catering. She becomes friends with the workers there and changes and remembers things how they were before her father. She gets a friend who knows exactly what she's going through and learns to tell everything to.

Didn't turn out nearly as I expected, and you won't be able to put this book down once you start it. Bring food, you may not be out for a while.

Amazingly written, something you can relate to, realistic situation that could happen to any of us.

Book Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

Macy Queen, a sixteen-year-old girl, is dealing with her father's recent death. For the year and a half since her father died, she's perfected her "Fine, just fine" image so her mother and sister don't worry about her. Her "perfect" boyfriend goes away to Brain Camp for the summer, leaving her stuck with his job at the library with two girls who hate her because they don't match their "intellecuality". Macy decides to work another job at WISH catering to help get her mind off things. Her older sister, Caroline, decides to fix up the old beach house that belonged to their father, a house they haven't been to since his death. With redecorating, working two jobs, from dealing with her new friends which include a handsome artist she crushes on, to her mother's time consuming, stressful job in real estate, Macy has a summer full of love, sadness, grief, mistakes, and finally, happiness.

I loved this book and recommend it to everyone to read. Sarah Dessen is a great writer. She has a way of making her characters and their surroundings seem all too real. You'll be wrapped in the book from the first page, not wanting to put it down. It's my new favorite book, and I've read it many times.

Book Review: funny, sad and all-around wonderful!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read most of Sarah Desson's novels and enjoyed all of them. But this is her best yet. 17 year old Macy witnessed her father's death. She has put her emotions on ice and surrounds herself with people that can't really touch her. Instead she puts all her energy into getting good grades and behaving perfectly. When her boyfriend goes to camp for the summer she finds herself with a job she hates and her relationship with Jason on hold. When Wish catering caters one of her mother's parties she meets Kristy a girl with a love of life and fun despite being scarred by a car accident she was in with her mother at a young age, Bert a odd but brillant teenager who drive an old ambulace around, Delia forgettful and pregnant owner of Wish catering, Monica the clumsy and monotone sister of Kristy and ... Wes a boy she finds many connections and the first peson she feels she can really be herself around. Eventually she finds herself with a job there and for the first time her emotions sart to thaw. Her mother not liking the change in macy forbids her to see her new friends. Macy reacts by withdrawing into her shell again and only comes out after a series of things that you'll have to read the book to find out about.

Book Review: Another brilliant Dessen book
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a story about the summer that changed the girl, Macy's life and her aspects about the true meaning of "forever".

Her father was supposed to be there for her forever, but he left her a year and half ago, when she was only a sophmore in high school. Macy's mother controls Macy's Forever and makes Macy take forever to get there, by overworking herself and forcing Macy to live strictly by her set out guidelines. Caroline, Macy's sister, wants her father's name to be remembered forever, and forces both Macy and her mother to take another look at their old vacationing home that both of them had tried to block out.

Macy's boyfriend, Jason, must forever be perfect. But Macy takes a risk by putting herself out a thin line, but neither Jason nor Macy is happy with the result. Kristy, Macy's best friend developed over a summer catering job, tries to remind Macy that Forever is only what she makes it out to be. Wes, a guy whom Macy gets to learn very fast over the summer through the same catering business, teaches Macy what Forever is really about.

And Macy is just trying to be alive in her own Forever.
