Book Reviews of The True Story of the Three Little PigsBook Review: The inside scoop Summary: 5 Stars
Reporters especially may appreciate the wolf's hysterical complaints about the press. Real sources and subjects often complain. And sometimes unscrupulous reporters do shoot for a hot angle, slanting news sharply away from the facts. Those two bits of information made me laugh out loud every time I read this new-age classic. The author obviously has some inside skinny.Your kids will miss the ironies, as did mine. But they'll like it a lot if you read the wolf's part with a Brooklyn accent. Go for it. You only live once. Book Review: Love it! Summary: 5 Stars
My wife is a big collector of children's books. She has 'The Stinky Cheese Man' and several other books by the J Scieszka/L Smith duo. So when I saw this book, I had to get it. Boy, was it a good choice. I love it! Forget 'Politically Correct Fairy Tales,' THIS is the Fairy Tale book you have to get! Our friends have a 3-year-old girl who used to love the story of the three little pigs. Ever since the first time I read 'The True Story' to her, she doesn't want to hear the 'official' version. She comes over and asks for the 'Sneeze book!'
Book Review: Sooo much fun! Summary: 5 Stars
As an adult, I love this book even though it was gifted to my 1 year old son for his birthday! I recommend a thick Texan drawl--it busts our kids up!
A word of warning to those of you buying for young children. If your young toddler doesn't know the original story of the three pigs, he/she won't get the concept of the wolf having a different perspective on how things "went down." This is more suitable for older children, but don't hesitate to buy it for yourself and wait until they too are pulling it off the shelf!
Book Review: The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs Summary: 5 Stars
For over 200 years we've been told and believed the story of the three poor little pigs and the big bad wolf. Now it's time for the infamous wolf to tell his side of the story. He says that all he wanted was to borrow a cup of sugar to make his dear old granny a birthday cake. He has a terrible head cold, but things go from bad to worse. It ends in the Big House: the Pig Pen. Was he framed? Big and Bad? Could be. Hilarious? Positively! Young and old will enjoy this "sequel" to The Three Little Pigs.
