Book Review: Outstanding Book with Down to Earth Advice

Dave Ramsey has written a book which tells you how to manage your finances. You do not have to be a CPA or an MBA to understand the basic advice given in this book. His main advice is to get rid of debt, be it credit card debt, auto loans, student loans, or any other loans. He says that debt is the main thing standing in the way of building wealth. If we did not have debt payments, that money could be put toward investing for retirement. He says it is good to put your money into mutual funds that are from the 15% of your gross income. He says to build up an emergency fund that starts as $1000. The ultimate emergency fund will have 3 to 6 months of income in a liquid account. He also gives tips such as staying away from places like rent to own businesses, payday lending places, he does not recommend playing the lottery, buying a trailer home, etc. This is a book from which everyone could get good advice.Book Review: Best book about money out there

This book fell into my hands because my dad brought it home, free, one day from work. Both my mom and I have worked our way through it. The best part about this book is that it's not a, "This is what you do," sort of book. It is truly a workbook, a step-by-step guide of how your finances should be dealt with. Dave Ramsey knows what he's talking about because he's been there. The beauty of this book is that he makes sure your ready to change the way to handle money, if your not, he says, put it down and come back when you are. He won't waste your time. Each step of the way he asks you to stop until you have finished a particular task, like building up your savings account, then you can continue to the next step. My mom and I loved the book so much, we ordered two for my sisters! The Total Money Makeover is a real lifesaver. Recently in the news we read of a man taking the lives of his entire family and himself because he lost his job and couldn't face the financial ruin. The Total Money Makeover is a book that helps people turn their lives around. As an attorney in Sacramento California I talk to a lot of people that are drowning in debt. This year my firm sent each of our clients a copy of the Total Money Makeover as our gift for th new year--living debt free gives each of us the opportunity to truly enjoy freedom and live without worry. The Total Money Makeover helps readers get their finances in order and get themselves out of financial slavery to their creditor masters.
Book Review: Financial Freedom

This book helped us to get on the track to financial freedom. It was hard at first to follow his budget forms but once we set our minds to seeing it through to the end and to get rid of all our debts, it became easier. Over the months, we have revised his forms to work with our own budget but that was because as we are paying off our creditors, we are taking them off of the forms and they have gotten to the point that we do not need as many items on them. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to be debt free and say good-bye to the credit card companies. We no longer use credit cards and only pay with cash or the debit/credit card. That way, you are spending your money and not someone elses and then paying them interest. It also gives you the freedom to know that with an emergency fund, you don't worry as much about "Murphy".Book Review: Throw all the other "finance" books away

This is the only one you will ever need, Dave Ramsey's principles are simple, and effective. He cuts through all the financial speak to the heart of the matter, people with big incomes do stupid with money( as Dave put it) They just do stupid with more zero's behind it. You don't have to be a genius to make in life and Dave Proves it This program is not get rich quick scheme, but if applied to your life will greatly improve your financial situation , your marriage and ultimately your family tree. He also offers a class called Financial Peace University, and has a great Radio show that can be streamed on your computer from his website all these tools work together to help you achieve your goals.
