Book Reviews of The Time Traveler's WifeBook Review: It kept my attention Summary: 4 StarsI received this book as a gift and was looking forward to reading. It was a quick read - I read it on a road trip. I agree with some of the reviews that the characters could have been more rich, but I have to admit, the book did keep my attention and I was compelled to finish it. I think if the author focuses more on fleshing out her characters, the next one will be even better. She obviously has no problem with an elaborate/complex storyline (meaning how she juggled the times/ages and still made it understandable). Look folks, I don't want to have to be a rocket scientist to understand a book. It's fiction, and marketed as such. Those looking for the actual secret/mechanics behind time travel should look elsewhere.
Book Review: One word Summary: 5 StarsI can only describe this book with one word- LOVE!!!
If your thing is GREAT love stories this book is for you, I could not put it down. I would like to time travel and read it all over again.
Book Review: i read every day Summary: 5 Starsfiction, non-fiction, classics etc. This is my favorite contemporary fiction book. I really fell for these characters and as a big fan of chicago i could relate to that aspect! nice handling of the time travel issue. unfortunately, you knew it had to end badly. i plan to read this book once a year.
Book Review: one of a kind love story Summary: 5 Stars"The Time Traveler's Wife" is one of those books whose characters will haunt me, making me miss them after I have turned the last page. In this very odd love story between Clare and Henry, his uncontrollable time traveling is the only obstacle that threatens to seperate them. I absolutely loved this book!
Book Review: An incredible love story Summary: 5 StarsI read this book a long time ago, but came across it recently and fell in love with it all over again. Once you get over the technicalities of time travel (you just have to accept the premise and get over the fact that many of the back and forths don't really jive) you realize that the true story is the beauty of loving another person unconditionally, despite their many flaws. I cried many times during this beautifully written story and truly did not want it to end. I have recommended it many, many times since then - it is all things good about fiction: memorable, realistic characters, writing that gives you a vivid picture of the world the author is creating, and a story that you can lose yourself in. (Side note: I read this book while listening to Damien Rice's "O" - I swear, it was written with this story in mind! To this day, I can't hear that album without remembering this lovely book.)
