Book Reviews of The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot IgnoreBook Review: Other BOOKS on the Subject may be more satisfying. Summary: 5 Stars
Let me start by saying that I am a devout Deepak Chopra fan and have read just about everything he has authored and I have learned much from this great mind. However, in this book, I think that Deepak was rushed and somewhat annoyed at perhaps the Catholic Church and all the dogma, the recent dictates of the Pope, which are on the verge of hysterically funny, it's true. But, the hysterical rantings of the Pope, an old fart by even the most generous of criticisms, is not enough to merit an entire book.
Any thinking person already intuits that Jesus didn't really walk on water or heal the sick or bring anyone back to life as his apostles have written in the Bible for the purpose of beginning a church. However, Deepak of all people should know better than to criticize someone for their beliefs. I have always said, "If you want to call God Jesus, Mohammed or Buddha, as Deepak likes to call God, then more power to you. At least you're talking to God and asking him for guidance in your life. That's really what Religion is all about. People band together to teach each other how to ask God to come into their lives. The fact that none of our groups of friends or churches have it 100% right, doesn't matter. As long as your talking about GOD as the INFINITE FORCE of LOVE in this universe, it matters not a whit what other names you give to him or her.
God really doesn't care what you call him, in other words, as long as you're calling him once in a while into your life. This I know more than anything else that I know.
Another book that I have found on Amazon that expresses this interest in Religion and the impact it can have on the world, is entitled: "BORN AGAIN, The 2nd Greatest Story Ever Told!" It's thriller. Should be on the TOP of the Best Seller List and perhaps soon it will be.
This book asks the question, what would happen if we found the DNA of Jesus and then CLONED him into this modern world. Well, the answer will amaze you. Give it a read and then write your own review.
Book Review: Personalizing Jesus Summary: 5 Stars
[...] the first in a series of spiritually-themed novels, I am always on the outlook for spiritual books that broaden my perspective. This book not only accomplished that, but it helped me develop an even more intimate relationship with Jesus.
This is a book that could totally transform the spiritual understanding of Christians along with opening them up to a relationship with the Holy Spirit. It will also speak to people of other faiths since it releases so much of the dogma that can exist within traditional Christian churches. It not only personalizes Jesus, the man, but it makes his messages more clear.
I love the way Deepak Chopra uses meditative techniques in order to allow the teachings of Jesus as presented in the scriptures to come alive. Through my own use of these techniques, the underlying messages of the scriptures spoke to me as they never have before.
The beauty of this book is that it freed me from the mental aspects of theology as it allowed me to develop a more personal relationship with the man who came to teach us the way to love. This book will especially appeal to individuals who are seeking a mystical experience within their own faith.
The book may be offensive to some closed-minded individuals. Deepak Chopra opens the door to all in order for them to develop their own Christ potential as equals with Jesus as other children of God. Personally I believe that the humble man, Jesus, would approve. He was here to help us all develop our highest potential. After all, he stated that it would be possible for us to perform even greater works than he. By taking individual and collective responsibility for our own spiritual development, perhaps we could indeed realize peace on earth and good will toward all "men."

Book Review: Don't anger the Christians, they might get violent and burn you. Summary: 5 Stars
What I think is funny is how un-Christ-like all the Christians react to information or theories from their fellow man.
Its like they are angry that somehow now that Chopra has written this book, that God and Jesus are going to be really angry with Christians and just mass punish everyone for having ideas made from God given minds. The punishment: not letting them into heaven, the heaven they are so scared they are not going to get into, the heaven that is so far away from them. The kingdom within.
So what if Chopra has these ideas? Is it going to spoil everyone from getting into the 'traditional' heaven? What's there to be scared of? If you believe Jesus' words as they are displayed in the bible are 100% accurate, then you have nothing to be afraid of. You obviously will be saved from hell and living it up in heaven while the rest of us burn.
If you are not open to your brothers ideas about reality and religion, then just let him be. Telling people not to bother reading this book is just plain fear mongering and the first step towards spanish inquisitions and witch hunting.
At least when Chopra poses a theory it is lighthearted and take it or leave it. When a Christian tells you a theory, its either take it or burn in hell. Its just all too clear, Christians are sometimes the most un-Christ-like people in the world. And for what? Because the rest of us are going to burn in hell and they are all going to heaven? Well if they are right they have nothing to doubt. Ah, but there is doubt. Well the rest of us don't feel forsaken. We just feel the love. And thats all.
I give it 5 stars because you know you're on to something when the crazy Christians get mad and try to block free information for no good reason at all besides their fear of not getting into heaven.
Book Review: An inspiring and, yes, provocative invitation to rethink Jesus Summary: 5 Stars
I hope most readers have the good sense to ignore the bilious one-star reviewers, none of whom seem to have actually read Deepak Chopra's fascinating rethink of Jesus. To truly appreciate this work, you must set aside all preconceptions. Chopra is not condemning faith and not asking anyone who is alreayd committed to Christianity to abandon their beliefs. He is trying to offer solace and inspiration to the millions of believers who have become distressed by the current crisis caused by fundamentalism but also by the fact that we all live in an overwhelmingly secular society.
The alternative mapped out in The Third Jesus is to consider that Jesus was primarily a teacher of higher consciousness. This view is non-traditional, to say the least, but Chopra offers many passages from the New Testament to support his contention that Jesus wanted everyone to rise to the same level of God realization that he was in. Even if that isn't historically correct, Christianity has made room for new interpretations over the centuries, and Chopra's fits our age, when people want to follow a spiritual path without being constrained by old dogmas and authorities.
I think any open-minded seeker will find much to enjoy in this book, which as usual is written with genuine integrity and sympathy for everyone who wants a fulfilled spiritual life.
Book Review: This isn't anything new in metaphysics Summary: 5 Stars
Chopra's vision of Jesus isn't anything new in the world of metaphysics. Paramahamsa Yogananda, Edgar Cayce, and A Course In Miracles say exactly the same thing. Look up their books on amazon. I think it was important for Chopra to reiterate what others have already said because he can bring this knowledge to the masses since so many people have heard about him and many eagerly wait to read his next book release. He has written so many books.
It is important to remember that no matter how many times this info gets put out there, hardcore narrow minded Christians will never agree with this interpretation of Jesus. They have been brainwashed in their churches to believe the way they do out of fear of going to hell or fear that God will get mad at them. It doesn't bother me for I know one day we will all realize the God within us, our ONENESS with Him and everything in the Universe, and be with him in Heaven forever. If we all come from God, then it is His plan for us to all go back to Him eventually. Even the demons that roam the earth must return to God, for he created them too, and He loves them just as much as any being he created in the beginning of time.
