Book Review: A 5-star thriller

For Michael St. Pierrre and his friends, it isn't a treasure hunt for profit; it is a matter of life or death. Michael must find the hidden treasure room of Ivan the Terrible, believed to be deep beneath the Kremlin, one of the most heavily fortified locations in the world, and steal an ancient gold box. If he fails, his father and a good friend of his will die horribly. If he succeeds, they may all die because how could the madman holding his father allow any of them to survive to tell his secret.
Michael is a retired thief and has many skills that will help him in his quest, but there is so much unknown that even Michael may not be able to find the hidden room that many others have searched for, for centuries.
If you love adventure, historic mysteries, and suspense, then this is a perfect book for you. The Thieves of Faith by Richard Doetsch is a little Indian Jones adventure, a little Tom Clancy political intrigue, and a little "National Treasure's" search for lost historical treasures. Throw in ex-KGB officers, an insane religious leader, and the peril of family secrets that have been kept too long and you'll get a taste of many of the elements in this story.
I think this is one of the best thrillers I have read in a long time. There is a lot of violence in this book but I wouldn't change a thing; it fits the story. I have not read this author's first book, The Thieves of Heaven - but I intend to now. Although this book is a sequel to The Thieves of Heaven, you do not need to have read the first book.
Both books have the same main characters of Michael St. Pierre and his friends but they are different adventures. This is an outstanding book you do not want to miss! Doetsch is a talented author who has earned a spot on my list of books I will automatically buy as soon as they are released.
